Kintsugi – The Idea of Impossible Repair II, Serendipity Arts Virtual 2020

This was done as part of the exhibition Creation Recreation curated by Kristine Michael and Chandrika Grover Ralleigh, with the artistic brief of Kintsugi.

Kintsugi is the Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with gold symbolising transformation and healing.

Kintsugi as an artist’s brief was interesting because the concept is beautiful as a metaphor for repair but paradoxical at the same time because it builds upon the idea of destruction, which takes me back to loss and absence and the tools we employ to fix rents in the fabric.
